Flooding misery is set to continue in the south of the borough as the battle continues to protect homes from flood waters.

Road closures

Drivers are advised to avoid Kenley and Whyteleafe due to localised flooding as side roads surrounding Godstone Road remain closed.

The A22 Godstone Road is closed both ways between Downs Court Road, Purley, and Croydon Road, Whyteleafe, because of serious flooding.

Bus route 407 is still on diversion via Downs Court Road, Mitchley Avenue, Mitchley Hill, Limpsfield Road, Tithepit Shaw Lane and Hillbury Road in both directions.

Parking

Tesco at Purley Cross is helping Kenley residents by offering free parking to anyone affected by the floods.

The police are issuing permits for the car park.

Schools

Harris Primary Academy Kenley remains closed and parents are advised to check the school website for updates.

Other schools in the area are open but parents are advised to make sure their children are able to get to school safely.

Parents are advised to check their children’s school website for regular updates as the situation could change.

Waste and recycling collections

The Purley Oaks Household Reuse and Recycling Centre remains closed while the pumping of water from the balancing pond at Purley Oaks Depot continues.
