A teenager who knifed a 14-year-old from Croydon to death over comments about a woolly hat has been jailed for a minimum of 14 years.

Knife-wielding Roree Cox, from New Cross, 18, leapt on to the 202 bus in Lee back in 2012 after Kevin Ssali made comments about Cox's brother's hat and watch.

An Old Bailey jury heard Cox shouted "Do you want me to stab you?" before knifing Kevin and then fleeing the scene.

Cox, of Wardalls Grove, had denied murder but was found guilty on January 19.

Today he was handed a life sentence and told he must serve a minimum of 14 years in jail.
