How about this for a view?
Ian Walker, chairman of the Croydon Airport Society and a pilot, has taken a selection of snaps from the cockpit.
Photos include the Alps, a lightening storm in a cloud, the Atlas Mountains and sunset over the Isle of Wight.
Mr Walker said: “I have taken surprisingly few photos in my career but seeing the Alps from 29,000 feet or seeing the sun set over the English Channel really is something to cherish.”
