A new BBC crime drama was being filmed in Croydon yesterday.

Crews were shooting scenes for The Interceptor, which sees police hunt down Britain's most dangerous criminals, in the town centre.

In one of the scenes, speeding cars race down Fell Road and pull up outside Croydon Council's headquarters in Bernard Weatherill House.

The eight-part series, written by Tony Saint and starring O-T Fagbenle, is scheduled to air on BBC One later this year.

Makes a nice change from the ridiculous amount of crime this paper usually tells us about!

Is the crime Drama about knife wielding yoofs and the lack of any deterrent?

Odd day to do it though. When The Bill used to film car chases in the Croydon area, they used to do them mainly on an early Sunday morning, to avoid disruption. Still, hope this new programme has more substance than just car chases.
