If you have something to get off your chest but cannot be bothered to travel to Hyde Park then you are in luck as Croydon now has its own speakers’ corner.
Inspired by the area in the north-east corner of the central London park where people can turn up and talk about any issue they choose, the Speakers’ Corner Trust has created one in the town centre in order to promote freedom of speech, public debate and active citizenship.
Speakers at the launch on Saturday included the deputy mayor Patricia Hay-Justice.
