A man has been injured in six-vehicle crash at the notorious Fiveways junction in Purley Way.

The victim, reported to be aged 40, was taken to Croydon University Hospital following the smash at about 12.22pm today.

His injuries are not though to be serious.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said it sent an ambulance and a single responder in a car to the scene.

Transport for London last year promised "significant investment" to improve Fiveways, which is one of Croydon's worst accident blackspots.
