A drug dealer is to be sentenced today for supplying the ecstasy which led to the death of Daniel Spargo-Mabbs.

Daniel, of Rymer Road, Addiscombe, died three days after a rave in Hayes, west London after he was part of a group that requested drugs before the party.

Nicqueel Pitrora, 18, of London Road, Croydon, is to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court after admitting being concerned in the supply of class A drugs on January 17.

He also pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class B drugs between January 1, 2013 and January 16, 2014, and possession of class B drugs (cannabis) on January 21.

His pleas came before the trial of Ryan Kirk, 21, from Beckenham, south east London, who was found not guilty of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs on January 17.

He was also cleared of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs between January 1, 2013 and January 16, 2014, and of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs in the same period.

Jurors heard that on January 17 a group of young men aged between 15 and 17 were going to a rave.

Tyrone Silcott, prosecuting, said the group made a bad decision.

A phone call was made and ecstasy requested.

Three bags of white powder were delivered.

Daniel paid £20 towards a quantity of MDMA and put what was thought to be half a gram into 500ml of water - with one witness claiming he possibly drank it all in one go.

Mr Silcott said it was Pitrora who was telephoned and asked if he could supply two and a half grams of MDMA.

The group was quoted a price of £80.

The prosecutor told the jury that ''despite the tragic backdrop'' of the case, their focus should be on whether or not Mr Kirk was the person who delivered the drugs.

They found him not guilty of all counts.

They heard from a witness who was just 80 per cent sure he had identified the person who delivered the drugs in an identity parade.

They also heard that a formality that should have been carried out at the start of the parade was ''missed''.

In a statement after the trial, Daniel's parents Fiona and Tim Spargo-Mabbs said: ''Daniel was an incredible boy, and an incredible son, who we loved with all our hearts, who made a very bad decision on 17 January.

''Over the course of the next three days in January we had to watch him slowly die, as the drug he had taken caused everything inside him to stop functioning."

Superintendent Des Rock said after the trial: ''Pitrora was very much responsible for co-ordinating the drugs deal and with such overwhelming evidence against him he had no choice but to plead guilty."
