A 39-year-old woman has died after crashing head-on with a single-decker bus.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at scene 1:08am this morning.

None of the passengers on the bus were injured.

The woman was driving a silver Hyundai, and the fire service have reported she did not need to be cut out of the vehicle.

Fire fighters were called out at 12:14am this morning to the accident which happened in Homestead Way, New Addington.

2 fire engines from New Addington station, as well as fire fighters from Croydon Fire and Rescue attended the scene, along with the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance.

Next of kin have been informed but the woman is yet to be formally identified.
