Olympian Mark Foster gave a motivational speech to gifted students at Archbishop Lanfranc on July 15.
The swimmer, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, gave told the group of bright pupils to work hard and be prepared to take risks in life.
The event was designed to take the students out of their comfort zone. The boys had two hours to complete tasks in which they had to dissect rats, design tanks, create bridges and calculate Da Vinci's golden ratio in order to find out which of the boys had the prettiest face.
Marie Nassor, deputy headteacher, said: “The boys really enjoyed themselves and Mark gave a really good speech. He stayed around and supported the boys in their tasks afterwards and I think they really appreciated it.”
