Supporting our town

Croydon's favourite free newspaper, the Guardian, is proud to join with Croydon Council and leading local businesses, to Champion Croydon once again, and is delighted to be the sponsor of the ethnic diversity category.

Published every Wednesday, the Guardian brings exclusive news, sport and leisure stories right to the door of 115,813* householders in the borough.

We've invested heavily in Croydon, opening a local office in Purley, and ensuring that a bigger, brighter, more colourful Guardian reaches more of the borough than any other newspaper. That means more than 60 per cent of adults in the Croydon area read the Guardian, again, more adults than any other newspaper in town. **

And we've supported our town too sponsoring the Fairfield and Croydon Carnival as well as by playing our part in our We Think Croydon's Champion campaign.

In 2003, the Guardian will continue to play a full role in the local community, and strive to further improve the quality of the news, leisure and sport information we provide our readers, both in-paper, and via our website, www.croydonguardian.co.uk.

Publisher Jo Gumb said: "We are proud to be a community newspaper, providing free information to our readers about the town they live in. Croydon has a rich heritage, and a vibrant and diverse culture of which it deserves to feel proud.

"I am delighted that the Guardian will once again be sponsoring the ethnic diversity category of the campaign, and hope we can play our part in ensuring Croydon's residents understand why they can feel proud of the town they live in."
