Hill happy with south London life

An honest chat between players and staff after the dismal home defeat to Wolves in February was the catalyst for Crystal Palace's current unbeaten run, according to Eagles defender Clint Hill.

Since the dire 2-0 loss in February, Palace have gone five games unbeaten, a run that has seen them rise to seventh in the league, just a point off the play-offs.

However, before that, the club had not tasted victory in six games, and Hill revealed the talk at the club's Beckenham training ground helped them turn the slump around.

He said: "We came in on the Sunday and just had 45 minutes talking about what we could do to freshen things up because we looked a bit stale and what more we could do in training. It was a positive chat, there was no arguing and it seems to have done the trick. Since then I think we have played a lot more football."

Hill has now settled into life at SE25, bouyed by the arrival of his family who moved down once he completed a permanent move from Stoke in January.

He said: "When I first came down I was still a little wary and it took me a good two to three weeks to get my head around it. For three months I was on my own and it doesn't help at all but everyone's down here now and we're settled in and enjoying it."
