Abi Ralph, 16, matched her winning Britain’s Got Talent team name Spelbound with a spellbinding set of GCSE results.

Despite a hectic year of media interviews, training and performances, the young acrobat managed to bag eight GSCEs, with five at A* or A - and a silver medal at the World Acrobatics Championships in July to boot.

After winning the Britain’s Got Talent final on a Saturday in June, she took her GSCE maths exam first thing on Monday morning, and still managed to get an A.

The Surbiton High pupil said: “After we won, everything was so exciting. On the Sunday I had loads of news interviews to do so I was really nervous when I got into the exam because I’d had no time to think about it.

“I was training every day after school, and trying to fit in revision. I don’t know what is the better feeling.

“With Britain’s Got Talent there was so much adrenalin but I worked far longer for my exams. Both are pretty amazing.”
