Face to face in Wandsworth
2:06pm Friday 6th July 2012 in Freetime By Alice Austin
London’s first Face to Face festival will arrive at Wandsworth from July 9 - 22.
The festival is a celebration of the challenging medium of solo performance, and aims to nurture new and emerging talent that it not afraid to take to the stage alone.
The festival will feature over one hundred performances including celebrated Beckett actress Lisa Dwan. Productions of Claire Dowie’s work will be showing and she will also make an onstage appearance.
Seasoned solo artists Jack Klaff and Guy Dartnell will be performing seminal fringe classics. Expect to see innovative solo performances and fresh perspectives from the eleven solo artists.
There will also be ten weeks of workshops, a weeklong intensive master class in solo acting and seventeen special guests.
Jeremy Stockwell and Mark Borkowski represent the legacy of the festival’s inspiration, the late Ken Campbell. Their new work is in praise of Ken’s playful sense of adventure, original prose and unique style. The festival will continue Campbell’s spirit of nurturing fresh talent and creating opportunities for young performers.
