Shakespeare's Scottish Play to be explored in summer workshop at Epsom Playhouse
2:41pm Thursday 2nd August 2012 in Freetime By Hardeep Matharu
Explore Shakespeare's tragic hero, Macbeth, at the Epsom Playhouse
Theatre: Get a taste for theatre and literature and a head start in understanding and enjoying the classics with a workshop celebrating Shakespeare’s famous Scottish play.
Pull the Other’s Theatre Lab will be helping to celebrate this year’s World Shakespeare Festival with a six-day course, for those aged between 9 and 14, which will introduce the tragedy of Macbeth in a fun-filled, highly energised, imaginative and professional environment.
Those participating will be able to meet new friends, learn about making a play and create a work-in-progress performance to show their family and friends on the final day.
By teaching physical theatre techniques, general stage craft, an introduction into Shakespeare's language and other staging skills, Theatre Lab aims to equip everyone taking part with the skills to work together and to form a dedicated team to create their very own version of the play.
Everyone involved will play their part in re-telling the story of the tragic hero, a murdered king, a controlling wife and three mystical witches.
Whether you are completely new to drama or are a seasoned thespian, Theatre Lab: Macbeth will find the director or performer in every member.
Theatre Lab: Macbeth, Epsom Playhouse, Ashley Avenue, August 13 to 18, £120, limited availability, book tickets at http://pulltheother.moonfruit.com/#/lab-bookings/4563536428
