Four glamorous and talented young musicians will bring an evening of the highest musical standards to the Epsom Playhouse next month. The Pavao String Quartet was formed by Bryony James, Natalia Gomes, Jenny Sacha and Kerenze Peacock 10 years ago whilst training at the Royal Academy of Music, where they won prizes individually and as an ensemble. Playing two violins, a cello and a viola, the girls have performed the great canon of music written for string quartets in the finest concert halls around the world but have not restricted themselves to the one genre; musical theatre, jazz and pop also feature in their repertoire. Between them, their credits include playing in the orchestra for Les Miserables, the world’s longest running musical, and at the Queen’s Golden Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace, alongside Rod Stewart. As well as live performances, the Quartet has recorded four studio albums to critical acclaim. Classic FM Magazine wrote that the Quartet is ‘an ensemble of real depth and musical distinction’, whilst Aled Jones, another performer who has crossed the classical/contemporary divide, describes the Quartet as having ‘a sound to melt the heart’. The audience at the Epsom Playhouse can expect to hear beautiful pieces by Dvorak and Barber as well as the Gershwin Lullaby and selected tracks from their CD’s.

The concert starts at 7:30 pm on Friday 30 March. Tickets are £13 bookable at epsomplayhouse.co.uk.
