Top trio visit Comedy Carnival
The Comedy Carnival at Battersea's Wessex House has got about as varied a line-up as you could wish for this weekend.
You may have seen Jason Rouse's gruesome, bloody images in these papers a few weeks ago, but he's a pussy cat really, even if he looks intimidating with his tattoos and penchant for death metal music. Let him introduce you to the darker recesses of his mind and you'll discover what a great comedian he is.
It is unlikely that his social paths will have crossed with Sean Meo. Sean is a former snooker player and is every bit as Marks and Spencer as this suggests. But his wit, confidence and perfect delivery make him a brilliant comic, and Sean is a former Time Out best stand-up award winner.
The devilish smile of Jeff Innocent suggests his name is one of those ironic English nicknames like Little' John. A tough East End boy, Jeff had the opportunity to follow in his father's footsteps into a life of crime, but chose window dressing in Carnaby Street instead. Must've taken some balls to explain that to Dad...
Anyway, Jeff is finally getting the credit he deserves for his slick, charming stand up act, particularly for last year's show Jeff Innocent: Eco Warrior, which earned him rave reviews.
Comedy Carnival; Wessex House, Battersea (opposite Clapham Junction station), SW11 1TN; Saturday, December 1, 8pm (doors 7pm), £12, includes entry to The Grand from 10pm-3am. For tickets visit comedycarnival.co.uk or call 08700 600 100.
