9:30am Friday 29th April 2011 in Comedy By Helen Barnes
Award-winning comedian Jo Brand is coming to the Playhouse for a one-off gig on May 25.
Deceptively droll, with a razor-sharp perspective on all that is sexist and sizeist, Brand started her career on London’s cabaret circuit.
Now a regular on TV panel shows Have I Got News For You and QI, she recently starred in the BBC Four comedy Getting On and picked up the gong for best female TV Female Comic at The British Comedy Awards.
Bu there’s plenty to laugh about before then as the Playhouse serves up a feast of comedy starting with Dan Clark, creator and star of the hit BBC comedy How Not to Live Your Life, who comes to Epsom on Saturday with his new live show.
He kicks off a week of top-drawer entertainment with appearances by Trigger Happy star Dom Joly on May 3, and following Joly’s debut, Edinburgh stalwart Simon Evans will be coming to the Myers Studio on May 7 bringing his sardonic wit by the truckload.
