This month sees a host of new artwork, visual art and live performances at the Construction Gallery.

The pop-up creative hub in Upper Tooting Road, Tooting, is showcasing locally-based talent for three months with a constantly changing programme.

Newly commissioned artworks in the exhibition focus on historical references which comment on the current economic climate.

An instillation from artists BBKP bring their wry humour to the main space by setting out to build an impossible structure.

Each of the four artists will use their craft to create a working big wheel, in a space which should not be able to accommodate it.

Must-see paintings by Yasuhiro Onishi are being displayed on the walls of the gallery, whose work has featured at the Affordable Art Fair.

Jonathan Trayner will explore political futility in his staged process of creating a flag until March 25, which will designate the building as a Temporary Autonomous Zone.

Its design has been amalgamated from suggestions by members of the public during workshops and a public vote.
