Trendy gourmet burgers are heading for south west London as Dirty Burger joins Chicken Shop in Balham.

The restaurant in Chestnut Grove will become the sixth site to offer the Dirty Burger menu, which was reportedly a favourite of Star Wars director JJ Abrams, with diners choosing from the Dirty Burger cheeseburger, Dirty Bacon or vegetarian Dirty Cop-Out.

Dirty Burger is a foodies’ favourite – rated highly on TripAdvisor and beloved of Instagrammers.

Even Hollywood’s current king is a fan. Owner Nick Jones told GQ last year: "Star Wars director JJ Abrams is currently obsessed with Dirty Burgers, and the van is almost permanently on the film set at the moment."

Both Chicken Shop and Dirty Burger are owned by Soho House, which was founded in 1995 as a private members’ club for people working in film and media and now run nearly 40 restaurants.

Inspired by the look and feel on 1950s American general stores, the fashionable eatery also does takeaways and prides itself on using four cuts of beef for its burger patties for extra flavour and roasting its chickens using a unique method and secret marinade.

The drinks menu also offers a new selection of cocktails.
