Celebrity chef Rick Stein signed copies of his new book at the restaurant of a former colleague.
Mr Stein greeted fans at Harrison's, in Bedford Hill, Balham, on Thursday.
The restaurateur signed copies of his memoirs Under a Mackerel Sky, as well as reading some extracts.
Lucky guests were able to sample some of the dishes from his latest cook book India in Search of the Perfect Curry.
Sam Harrison, owner of Harrison's, previously worked with Mr Stein in Padstow and Sydney.
Mr Stein is an investor in Harrison's and sister restaurant Sam's Brasserie in Chiswick.
