A free mobile app that allows for delivery of homemade meals is available for those in Richmond and beyond.

Critically acclaimed chef Bruno Loubet has put his name to the Supper app, which allows London-based chefs to cook their own recipes from their own kitchens before they are delivered.

I'm not much of a cook – I actually count "scrambled eggs on toast" as one of the most triumphant dishes in my repertoire – so I jumped at the chance to have a meal home-cooked by a skilled chef delivered to my door.

When I downloaded the Supper app and checked at 2pm on the Sunday, I was presented with a choice of Harissa spiced lamb shoulder or a shepherd’s pie.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

I opted for the lamb, which the app informed me was braised for six hours, shredded then stir fried with pine nuts, spices and honey. It was to be served with raw baby spinach, green beans and smoked aubergine, with a mint yoghurt on the side, and would be cooked at George’s Kitchen.

The meal arrived at 7.30pm on the dot, and was simply delicious.

Hopefully as the app gains popularity the amount of choice will grow, but in terms of having home-cooked food you would not normally be able to order online or by phone delivered to your door the service was very convenient.
