Good beer and jolly times are promised as real ale, live music and stand-up comedy come together.

Villagers can raise a glass to the British summer at the sixth annual Hersham Beer Festival, with live performances from popular bands and comedians for beer lovers’ delectation.

More than 5,000 pints are expected to be guzzled at this year’s event.

Thirsty residents can sink a pint or two, with a vast range of summer tipples on offer from the best brewers across the country, including Ascot, Cronx and Windsor and Eton.

In addition to beer, wine, cider and perrys are all in plentiful supply.

Festival organiser Ed Grimsey says: “The festival has built quite a reputation to live up to, but we’re confident this one will be better than ever.

“This brewfest will have an unsurpassed range of drinks available, and we’ve really expanded the range of lagers and ciders this year.

“We’re really proud of the entertainment line-up we’ve managed to pull together, including two nights of comedy straight from primetime TV.”

Live comedy will be provided by the Comedy Works, with six of the best comedians.

The line up includes Live at the Apollo star Simon Evans, Mock the Week’s Carl Donnelly, Show Me the Funny winner Patrick Monahan and Radio 1 favourites, Abandoman.

And if that was not enough, guests will be able to get their groove on and tap their feet to the High Barnets, Beergut 100, Fast Fuse, the Midnight Tokers and Connelly and Clarke, as well as two club DJ sets.

The festival, organised by 1st Hersham Scouts, will see proceeds help send youngsters on an active adventure trip to Utah this summer. Money will also be raised for Princess Alice Hospice.
