Bookworms are getting ready to fill their bags as Britain’s biggest charity book fair returns to Epsom.

The growing number of readers turning to Amazon and the Kindle has not dented the popularity of the fair, now its 13th year.

The three-day fair, which boasts thousands of books, DVDs and records, raised £26,500 for good causes and attracted 3,000 people last year.

It started at Epsom Methodist Church 13 years ago when it needed to raise £2,000 for a church improvement project.

After the book fair last year, Jacqui Raggett, who was on its committee, said: "The amount it raises is absolutely stunning and that’s the reason we carry on with it.

"You can’t walk away from something that does so much good."

Refreshments and light lunches are available. Take book donations to the church or ring 01372 726738 by Wednesday, February 12.
