The biggest sporting, leisure and culture event in the borough returns at its most fun-packed yet.

Last year, 3,000 people came together for the Leisure Live flagship event and this year, Elmbridge Council has vowed to make the day even bigger and better to draw in a larger crowd.

From touchtennis tournaments and healthy walks to rowing and rollerskiing taster sessions, a host of sporting and healthy activities will be available to try out.

Children can also enjoy a range of fun sessions from jumping high on the bouncy castle to arts and crafts and fun games.

Foodies will also be in for a treat with homemade cakes, a barbecue and strawberries and cream all available.

A new addition to this year’s event is storm the stage, which showcases performances by schools, colleges, performing arts groups, choirs, bands and more, all made up with young people from across the borough.

The opportunity allows performers to bring their work to larger audience, will add a boost to their confidence and raise awareness about the variety of youth and community arts in Elmbridge.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, promises there will not be any dull moments at this year’s event.

She says: "I am hoping that once again, this popular event will be attracting many local residents from Elmbridge to sample the fantastic sporting and cultural heritage we have locally.

"Don't miss out on this fun-packed community event full of exciting activities for everybody."
