Jonathan Aitken, the former cabinet minister jailed for perjury, will speak at an evening to 'celebrate hope' in Leatherhead.
After going from high office to a prison cell, Aitken started afresh as a broadcaster, author and campaigner for human rights.
Gerald Coates, founder of the Pioneer church network, says: "The evening, which is ticketed but free, will feature, film, music and Jonathan Aitken’s amazing story in his own words.
"There are so many people doing so much to provide hope for Leatherhead, within structures, narratives, and with spontaneous acts of kindness."
Anyone with an interest in the success of the town is invited.
Launch of Hope in Leatherhead; Leatherhead Theatre, Church Street, Leatherhead; Tuesday, November 11; refreshments from 7pm, presentation starts at 8pm; free tickets available from the box office on 01372 365141
