Storytellers are getting ready to a share a new generation of folklore using puppets, songs and audience participation.
Snail Tales, a group of oral storytellers, are bringing their family production, A Pinch of Pickle, a Whisk of Wise, to Epsom Playhouse this month.
The group has collected stories created by children aged seven to 11 years old and brought them to life on stage.
Epsom Playhouse says: "Sometimes moral, sometimes delightfully absurd, always colourful, curious and fun, the magic-spinning storytellers will guide children through an exciting world created by the people who know them best - children."
The tales, described as wacky, original and enchanting, are said to feature "crazy characters, potty plots and sensational settings".
Previous Snail Tales tours include A Little Bird Told Me and A Bird in Your Ear. A number of their projects have been supported by the Arts Council and local authorities in the UK.
