Railway enthusiasts from around the country will travel to Ewell for a model railway show later this month.

The exhibition will bring together working model railway layouts of different railways stretching back more than 100 years.

Epsom and Ewell Model Railway Club says: "We start our time travel around Britain’s railways back in 1910 featuring Plumpton Station in Sussex.

"The 1930s finds us at locations in Berkshire and Dorset. Onwards to Lancashire in the 1940s before crossing the Pennines into Yorkshire for the 1950s.

"The scenic Settle and Carlisle line in Cumbria and the East End of London cover the 1960s, whilst we move on to the West Country for the 1970s and 80s.

"We finish our trip at Hinksey in Oxfordshire in more recent times of 2010."

On top of these British railway layouts, the show will also exhibit overseas layouts featuring railways in Ireland, Switzerland and America.

Brian Angus, a member of the club, says: "We are able to bring some of the best models from across the country to Ewell, which makes it an excellent show, not just for enthusiasts but local families."
