Clowns, puppets, magicians, performers and face painters are set to descend on Leatherhead for a fun day in the park.

The fun day, featuring a bouncy castle, storytelling and live music, will take place on the grounds of Park House in the town centre next month.

Rachel Hopper, one of the organisers from Pioneer Engage Church, say: "This is a day for family and friends of all ages. People simply pay for their burgers or bacon baps, but all the rest is completely free."

Another organiser Chris Newton adds: "Come early and there is even free candy floss!"

Evangelist Jonathan Conrathe, who founded a Christian ministry called Mission24 , is speaking at a series of events in the run-up to the fun day.

Gerald Coates, who founded the Pioneer network of churches, said: "There are so many people providing hope for Leatherhead, we believe all these events -and especially the fun day-as well as all the good news that will come out from the week, will be an encouragement to everyone who chooses to participate."
