FILM – Fantastic Four, out Thursday (August 6)

Not even the Human Torch could stop the spark from going out of the Fantastic Four franchise after 2007’s Rise of the Silver Surfer but now it’s back with a gritty, highly-secretive comic book reboot directed by Josh Trank, starring Fruitvale Junction’s Michael B Jordan and Whiplash’s Miles Teller. There’s even a Fantastic Four/ X-Men crossover mooted if this movie works out.

DAY OUT – Swinging Sixties Shuttle Bus, hourly between Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington town centres every day

KIDS - 'Pay As You Paint' at Village Ceramics, Sutton, open seven days a week

DAY TRIP - Titsey Place and Gardens in Oxted

One of largest surviving 16th century estates in the area, the gardens boast spectacular views with the house offering tea rooms and art collections. ART - Fairfield Through the Decades at Fairfield Halls, Croydon

An historical exhibition on the history of our local theatre venue, throughout the week, displaying the key events and performances in Fairfield Halls' past, as seen through the lens of photographer Frazer Ashford.  Free admission in the first floor corridor of Fairfield Halls, prints are available for purchase on request. 

CLUBBING – Saturday Night Society at The Watershed in The Broadway, Wimbledon, from 10pm to 3am on Saturday

Party the night away at The Watershed with chart hits mixed with blasts from the past by resident DJ Dan Scott, with indie and pop in the Little Shed bar. It’s strictly 18s and over.

MUSEUM -  Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum

Post-Wimbledon, there is never a better time to visit the historic Lawn Tennis Museum. You can combine a tour of the tennis grounds, including centre court with your visit. Other attractions include a 3D cinema and textile exhibitions. The museum is open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm, for both public and private tours. MAGIC – Close Up Magic: Children’s Special at Epsom Playhouse from 2.30pm on Saturday

The regular show, where members of the Magic Circle perform amazing tricks and sleight of hand to small audiences at their table, gets a summer holidays twist. But this isn’t the usual kids’ magic. Chris Wood, a Gold Star member of the Inner Magic Circle, performs amazing magic to genuinely amaze discerning minds young and old. Suitable for ages seven and up. Tickets cost £12.50.
