Move more

Even when you first wake up in the morning and are boiling the kettle.  Start with some gentle arm swings, easy stretching of your arms and legs and you'll be amazed how more energized you feel.

Your Local Guardian:

Stand up when you're on the phone

A simple way to be aware of your posture and breathing.  Try standing or even gently walking around your home when you are on the phone. If you need to stand in one place be aware of your posture while doing so.

Your Local Guardian:

Change a habit

Perhaps after lunch you always have a cuppa, followed by a couple of biscuits. Ditch the tea and hey ho you'll hold off the biscuits too.  Try brushing your teeth straight after lunch to avoid the cravings.

Your Local Guardian:

Stop for a moment

How often do you stop and do nothing? No matter what your lifestyle you'll be amazed how switching off and literally sitting or laying quietly or a few minutes can refresh you.  No tele, no kids, no phone. Just stop and think.

Your Local Guardian:

Write lists

Feeling overwhelmed? Keep track of what you need to do and you'll instantly feel empowered.  No matter how small put your list of things to do down on paper and get them out of your system.  And while you're there - see if you can delegate a job or too.  Go on, give the housework to the kids tonight, and the gardening to your husband.

Your Local Guardian:

Drink more water

Try having some water first thing in the morning. If you don't fancy this simply add a couple of extra glasses of water into your daily routine. You'll soon find it becomes a natural habit and your body and mind will thank you for it.
