We still have nearly four months until MyRaynesPark festival returns, and this year it coincides with Refugee Week with the theme being ‘Welcome’.
Here’s six things to look forward to…
Reflection Zone
A creative space for relection and information on refugees in the world today. It will include stories of refugees, facts and figures and the chance for prayers, poems, reflections and the create artwork.
Storytelling for Kids at Raynes Park Library on Saturday, June 18
Storyteller Jan Blake will share tales from around the world. She has been performing for 25 years with recent highlights including being storyteller-in-residence at Hay Festival and the World Shakespeare Festival.
Choir Festival on Saturday, June 19
Choirs from around the area will perform with the special guests from the Woven Gold Choir, which includes musicians from Algeria, Chechnya, Iran, Kurdistan, Pakistan and other African countries alongside professional UK musicians.
Belly Laughs on Tuesday, June 21
Stand-up comedian Andy Kind and friends will perform at two restaurants in Raynes Park.
Pub Quiz on Wednesday, June 22
Test your knowledge against the finest minds in Raynes Park.
Poetry Evening on Friday, June 24
Award-winning poet and playwright Sabrina Mahfouz hosts an open mic poetry night.
