Parents and children are heading into battle at a new class which brings fun to family fitness.
Social fitness company WhizzFit is launching the UK’s first Family Nerf Club in Epsom in April.
Combining a series of fun and active games with the child-favourite Nerf toys, director Angus Affemey wanted to start a session that was fun for the whole family.
He said: “I knew children were mad about Nerf guns and parents were fed up with picking up Nerf bullets around the house.”
Armed with the latest pump-action Nerf guns (some children like to bring their own), the games combine dodgeball and old childhood games such as British bulldog.
Angus said: “After a series of fun warm up games we organise everyone into teams, sometimes adults want to be on the opposite side to their spouses and children want to be against their parents.
“Either way it's a powerful message when a family are all participating in an event together like this.”
He added: “Adults can recapture that missed spent youth and kids get to play more of what they love. Plus both parties get fit.”
WhizzFit’s Family Nerf Club launches at Rainbow Leisure Centre from 2pm to 4pm on April 10 and Angus hopes to run the sessions monthly. Go to whizzfit.com
