Wimbledon Guild’s Village Fair will return this summer.

The family-friendly day on Wimbledon Common is one of London’s biggest free events, attracting more than 40,000 people last year, and is back on June 18.

The 2016 edition will feature two food villages and a farmer’s market plus more than 200 stalls selling artisanal and local produce.

Animal lovers can enjoy a dog show and pony rides, there will be live music and a jazz tent and a children’s zone featuring a mini funfair and have-a-go activities such as zorbing.

Led by a team of more than 100 volunteers, the fair is organised by Wimbledon Guild, which provides practical help for people in crisis.

Chief executive Wendy Pridmore said: “The fair has become a landmark community event in Wimbledon’s summer calendar and one of the biggest free events in London.

“It is a fantastic, fun-filled day out which has something for everyone. We really appreciate how the community rallies round and comes together to support this event which is our biggest fundraiser of the year.

“We are currently providing more services to more people than at any other time in our history and the money raised will help us to continue our work assisting local people lead a better life by tackling poverty, supporting ageing and encouraging mental well-being through our services across Merton and Wimbledon.”
