People living within a mile of Fairfield Halls would be well advised to invest in some earplugs because the McFly boys are back - and they're louder than ever.

If the noise from the hoards of screaming teenagers lining the streets in hysterics doesn't distract you from your last mouthful of dinner on Tuesday week then the boys and their guitars no doubt will - after all they love nothing better than to create pure rock noise.

Since bursting on the scene with Five Colours in Her Hair back in 2004, Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry have gone on to record four studio albums, register seven number one singles, form their own label and even star in a Lindsay Lohan film - yet their average age is still just 22.

The boys new tour is a follow-up to 2006's Up Close and Personal, imaginatively called Up Close...but this Time it's Personal, performing to theatre-sized crowds throughout the country giving the band's fans the chance to scream even louder in more intimate venues than arenas and stadiums.

Their last album, Radio: ACTIVE was the first under the band's own label, Super Records, and sees them with full control over production and recording of their material - so it's understandably a little louder than the other ones.

The boys will be supported by American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, who releases his debut single Crush the day before the gig and his first album the following Monday.

The 17-year-old from Utah is already a huge star in the US where he was placed second on Forbes list of Breakout Stars of 2008 with Crush hitting number two in the billboard charts and the album also going in at the runners up spot.

Sadly, tickets for the gig are already sold out but if you're a big enough fan you could always just stand outside and hear it all anyway because the boys are bound to blow the roof off.
