Nicholas Parsons holds a remarkable record - in 42 years of presenting Just a Minute he has never missed a show.
The BBC Radio Four panel game has been on the air every week since December 1967 and not once has 85-year-old Parsons failed to turn up.
This week he is hosting a show of a different kind at New Wimbledon Theatre, exhibiting remarkable energy for a man of his age as he takes the audience on a humorous and nostalgic journey through the funny memorabilia of his life.
Parsons first came to the nation's attention half a century ago as the straight man to comedian Arthur Haynes, before becoming a regular on The Benny Hill Show for five years in his own right, with his fame culminating in the long-running Anglia Television game show, Sale of the Century.
An Evening With...Nicholas Parsons, New Wimbledon Theatre, May 26, 7.30pm. Call 0870 060 6646 or visit newwimbledontheatre.co.uk.
