Old York Road Unplugged to celebrate acoustic music
A street party this month features musicians celebrating the joy of acoustic music.
Old York Road Unplugged is the fifth of its kind to take place in Battersea, with the road being closed off to traffic all day.
Live music will be played across three stages, with each musician playing unplugged acoustically.
There will be a variety of solo artists and groups performing popular acoustic genres, ranging from folk and swing to jazz and pop.
Visitors can also expect to hear more unusual unplugged styles, like hip-hop and ska.
Talented musicians from Wandsworth feature on the line-up, as well as artists who have travelled from further afield.
Expect to see folk-soul female four-piece The May Birds, EvanJack and hip-hop pop vocalist, Jessica Sweetman.
Guests are also being treated to a performance from Sashi and the Wild Beans, an 11-strong ska, soul and swing group hailing from Brixton.
Restaurants, cafés and bars in the street are joining forces to serve food, drink and street food.
Amirah's Kitchen is selling Indian street food, while real cask ales are being served by the Alma Pub.
A mini farmers' market is running from Wandsworth Town station for food fans to sample specialist teas, coffees, chutneys and olive oils.
The Queen's caterer Absolute Taste is also setting up shop so you can also dine like royalty.
A charity raffle will be running throughout the day to raise money for Help for Heroes, which will be drawn from stage at 4pm.
