A peace festival is coming to Streatham with speakers, live music, films, yoga and more.

The Little Big Peace Event, from September 16 to 23, hopes to inspire peace and positivity by bringing together the community.

The volunteer-run festival kicks off with lantern making on Sunday.

On Monday a knitted “peace scarf” will be held up before a screening of the Day After Peace at Streatham Odeon.

There will be music at the White Lion pub on September 21 and music and films at the Hideaway on September 23.

Anna Nolan, one of the organisers, said: “The event is our support of Peace One Day’s call for an annual day of non-violence worldwide, Peace Day.

"We want to reach as many people as we can in the community and we think there’s an event to inspire everyone in this year’ programme.”

Jeremy Gilley, founder of Peace One Day who will attend the festival, said: “The Little Big Peace event is an incredible way for individuals to take part in the peace process.”
