Hundreds of artists are inviting the public into their homes to celebrate art in the borough.

The Wandsworth Artists' Open House event sees Wandsworth based artists showcasing and selling work in their home environments.

It is taking place across two weekends and has been organised by Wandsworth Council's arts team, in conjunction with an artists' steering committee.

Visitors have the chance to catch a glimpse of the artists' home and studio while having the opportunity to meet them and discuss their work.

Artwork ranges from crafts, sculpture, paintings, jewellery and film instillations, and visitors can buy the work being displayed.

A host of events have also been arranged to coincide with the weekend, including a temporary Victoria arts and crafts home being set up in the De Morgan Centre, West Hill, on October 7.

Children have designed a Three Little Pigs structure with storyteller Alison Royce and artist Caroline Ward to celebrate the event.

The structure is made of heavy duty and fly-away material,  and will be open from October 16 to 21 in Sprout Arts, Ribblesdale Road, Furzedown.

On October 13 artist Lesley Halliwell is running Inspired by the Spirograph, giving visitors the opportunity to take part in drop-in drawing sessions to celebrate her work.

The images will go on display in the gallery, so guests also have the chance to be part of the weekend.
