Rock band Brightlight City will host their single launch party at Scream Lounge this week.

Their single, Feels Like, was released last Monday and they are now looking forward to the official launch party at one of Croydon’s popular music venues, on Friday, October 12.

The band formed in 2010 and they have been gigging around the UK this year to increase their fan base outside of London.

Lead guitarist Jonathan Staunton and brothers Jamie and Justin Giarraputo are from Epsom, with Joe Edwards and Daniel Stubberfield from Carshalton.

They compare themselves to Gaslight Anthem and have a 1980s vibe but the band aim to incorporate different styles into their music.

Jonathan Staunton, 28, says it has been an exciting time for the band. He says: "We want people to rock out a bit when they come and watch us live. Croydon is like a second home to us as we have done a lot of gigs at Scream Lounge.

"This week’s gig ties in nicely with the launch of the new single. In the last year our shows have been a lot better as we have practised a lot more as a band and we have nailed our sound now.

"It is a great vibe down there and it is always good to play in what is a home crowd for us. We are all looking forward to it."
