Graduates and professionals put on plays at St Mary's, Twickenham
2:11pm Monday 15th October 2012 in Freetime By Rachel Bishop
St Mary’s University has launched a series of productions that will be open to the public over the next three months.
A selection of professional performances and high-quality student productions will run at the Drama St Mary’s Theatre, which is located on the University’s Strawberry Hill campus in Waldegrave Road.
The first production, Pillowtalk, on October 17 and 18, was devised by Paperfeet Theatre, a new physical theatre company made up of current physical theatre undergraduate students.
Drama St Mary’s programme director Patsy Burn said: “Every year we run a strong series of productions, both by our own drama students and external theatre companies.
“These always prove to be extremely popular and we are delighted to be able to offer members of the public the opportunity to come and see these fantastic performances on their doorstep.”
The next performance is on November 7 and 8, called the Weather Today, devised by level three theatre arts students as part of the graduates’ production week. This is a new piece of writing about cancer, friendship and coping, whatever the weather.
All performances are held at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill campus and tickets cost £5.
