Music from five continents and five centuries will fill St Nicholas’ Church as a world-famous duo take to the stage.
Guitar soloist John Williams and multi-instrumentalist composer Richard Harvey come together at the Thames Ditton church for the concert, with money raised going toward two causes.
Performing together in the borough for one night only, the distinguished duo will present evocative and virtuoso music.
With the sound Williams’ guitar complemented by a vast range of sounds from recorders and mandolins to a medieval-style psaltery, an African thumb piano and rare Chinese instrument, the concert promises to be a night like no other.
Money raised will go to fund repairs to the ancient tower and roof of St Nicholas’ and to the MAE Foundation, a charity that brings musical instruments and music teaching to refugee children from Burma who live in closed camps along the Thai border.
