An all-star line-up will take to the stage at the Eel Pie Club to pay tribute to vocalist Art Wood.

Art, brother of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, died from prostate cancer in 2006.

The singer, who fronted his own band The Artwoods, was a passionate supporter of the Eel Pie Club when it was starting out, bringing his brother to a number of gigs as well as his nephew, Jesse, and niece Leah.

He is also credited with introducing stars including Status Quo’s Rick Parfitt and the late Long John Baldry to the rhythm and blues club.

To mark Art’s birthday, which would have been on July 7, the Eel Pie All-Stars are hosting a benefit concert in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity.

The nostalgic rhythm and blues night on July 13 will be headlined by the All-Stars, led by Don Craine of The Downliners Sect, plus Keith Grant, ex-Yardbirds Alan Glen, Chris Hunt, Del Dwyer and Dave Lennox.

There will also be performances by special guests, including Mick Avory of The Kinks, Robin Bibi, Paul Cox, Derek Griffiths and Ali Mackenzie from the Artwoods and Jack Pinder.
