Jason Segel has admitted the idea of making a sex tape does not appeal to him at all.

The actor stars with Cameron Diaz in new movie Sex Tape - about a couple who try to spice up their marriage by making an explicit home movie, which then accidentally gets distributed to all their friends, family and work colleagues.

Asked if he'd ever thought of making a sex tape in real life Jason said: "We spend so much time on camera, I think the idea in our regular lives, the idea of having a camera near me... I don't need to have one. It's not me. I don't like cameras in general."

Cameron agreed: "I don't do selfies, like I hate selfies. I don't like having my picture being taken in general. The rest of my life is not documented, I don't take pictures of things going on in my life. I try and be present for them."

The release of the film coincided with the leak of nude and explicit images of dozens of female celebrities including Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence, model Cara Delevingne and former Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay, whose compromising pictures were posted online after their accounts were apparently hacked.

Speaking about the hacking scandal, Jason said it made him realise how unsafe the internet can be.

He said: "I think it just goes to show there's a real Wild West element to the frontier of technology. You really don't know what to expect and yeah, you have to be really careful. It's a terrible crime and because we use the word computer or hacker and celebrity... this is a person doing something terrible to another person and that's highly illegal and wrong.

Cameron added: "It's very chauvinistic and I feel like it always is a violation of women, you now? We focus so much on women and it's misogynistic really. It's a direct attempt to hurt women and I think it's unfair and as Jason says it's a human being who's being violated in a very personal, private moment that is being used to hurt them. I think it's a crime absolutely and the people who did it should be made examples of."

Jason insisted their own comedy Sex Tape is really about relationships.

He said: "I think what the movies does is pull back the veil of what it's like for couple after a long period of time. I think it's a great date movie for couple who've been together a long time because it will start some real conversations and we try and be as honest as possible."
