Enrique Iglesias has undergone surgery on his hand after slicing his fingers in the blades of a drone while performing on stage.

The singer has a drone filming parts of his Sex And Love world tour and sometimes tries to catch hold of the flying camera mid-performance, but the stunt went wrong at a concert in Tijuana, Mexico, when his fingers got caught in the rotating blades.

He seemed to lose a dramatic amount of blood and even used it to draw a heart on his white t-shirt, but insisted on carrying on with the show after some brief medical treatment.

A representative for the music heartthrob has since issued a statement saying: “Enrique is currently undergoing reconstructive hand surgery today (June 1). He will resume his tour July 3 in Mexico City. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Thank you to all your concern and good wishes.”

The statement explained: “During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident.

“He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show. He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to LA to see a specialist.”
