Pete Doherty has unveiled a new single in tribute to Amy Winehouse, recorded to raise money for a charity in her name.

The Libertines frontman, who has been recovering from his own addictions at a clinic in Thailand, made Flags Of The Old Regime in memory of the late singer and will donate all profits to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which educates young people about drug and alcohol misuse.

According to the NME, the track is set to be released on March 9 and has been produced by Stephen Street, featuring Drew McConnell from Babyshambles and Helsinki on bass, Jamie Morrison on drums, Stephen Large on keyboard and Stephen on acoustic guitar and percussion, with strings arranged by John Metcalfe of Durutti Column.

The Libertines signed a new record deal with EMI late last year, with their last album released in 2004 through Rough Trade.

Pete and the rest of the band got back together last summer to play London’s Hyde Park and a run of gigs at Alexandra Palace.

Bandmate Carl Barat is set to release his first album with backing band The Jackals, Let It Reign, on February 16.
