British stars such as Dame Helen Mirren, One Direction, Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Pattinson joined their American counterparts for laughs at Red Nose Day in the US.

In a bid to get the public’s donations, the three-hour charity telecast featured a musical version of Game Of Thrones, all-female remakes of Reservoir Dogs, Indiana Jones and Three Men And A Baby.

Here are some of the top highlights of the night:

1. Game Of Thrones musical

Coldplay, led by frontman Chris Martin, and the cast sing a Broadway-worthy ode to the bloodthirsty fantasy drama in a sketch, narrated by the one and only Liam Neeson.

“One word that springs to mind when I’m thinking about this project is Titanic,” said actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen. “Not in terms of the successful movie, in terms of the unsuccessful boat.”

But then Kit Harington aka Jon Snow turns up…

2. Gwyneth Paltrow and Rose Byrne star in Stephen Merchant’s play

Rose Byrne donned a trucker cap while Gwyneth wears a black jumpsuit for Stephen Merchant’s new play, which included plenty of compliments about his butt – and sees him trying to get a passionate kiss from the actresses.

3. UK stars lend a hand

The idea for Red Nose Day may have come from the UK, but the Brits were relegated to back-stage duties for the American version.

Sir Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren, Simon Cowell, Naomi Campbell, Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson and Orlando Bloom were given jobs behind-the-cameras.

4. Ed Sheeran and Kermit make a Rainbow Connection

The pair were reunited following their collaboration on Sesame Street, as they duet on Rainbow Connection.

5. Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant’s real voices revealed

Like the sketch featuring Daniel Craig and Naomie Harris at this year’s Comic Relief Red Nose Day, Notting Hill stars Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, along with Liam Neeson, unveil their dubbed voices in this Hollywood Secrets.

6. Anna Kendrick as Indianna Jones

Anna Kendrick reboots the Steven Spielberg classic with her own take on Harrison Ford’s legendary archeologist alter-ego.

7. Ben Stiller throws a strop

The Zoolander star has a diva moment while making a plea for donations.
