Guys, it’s bad news if you’re after this kind of body: you’re going to have to work very, very hard and there’s no shortcut.

The chap in the picture is Lotan Carter and he’s one of a gang of musclebound hotties in The Dreamboys, whose tour comes to Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on May 29, Richmond Theatre on June 12 and New Wimbledon Theatre on August 14.

We asked the 25-year-old nephew of Pineapple Dance’s Louie Spence how on earth he got those amazing abs.

Essex boy Lotan said: “I’ve been a dancer my whole life so I have always been lean and trim.

“When you join the Dreamboys you don’t just have to been lean and trim, you have to hold quite a lot of muscle.

“We don’t stop. Our bodies don’t have a chance to put on any fat because we’re constantly on the move.”

Your Local Guardian:

In terms of transforming your body, there’s no quick fix.

He said: “People want to see changes overnight and changes every week and the real answer to it is there is no miracle pill or cure: you have to start and you have to persevere with it.

“It doesn’t happen overnight. People go on a diet for a week or two and still look the same. You need to be three or four months down the line before you start seeing some changes.”

There is no room for the odd cheat, either.

“Going on a diet is one thing but going on a diet and having a pint at the weekend is going to ruin everything you have done all week,” he said.

“If you’re going to do it, you’re going to have to commit to it and unfortunately alcohol is the worst thing you can do to your body if you are trying to lose weight.

“If you want to get into the sort of shape we’re in you have literally got to dedicate everything you have go to it.

“Perseverance is absolutely the staple of trying to get into shape.

“There are all these companies out there selling miracle pills. The be all and end all is: none of these pills actually work.

“You cannot beat exercise, diet: eat less, move more.”

The Dreamboys eat eight or nine times a day and their food is specially prepared in advance and kept on their tour bus.

Lotan  said: “You kind of graze, like a baby would, every two or three hours. If you’re not able to eat every two or three hours you are eating too much in each sitting.

“A prime example is one chicken breast, a handful of brown rice and a handful of broccoli – that is one meal.

“We’re always eating very high protein and medium carbohydrates. We don’t believe in low carbohydrate diets but we don’t believe in high carbohydrate diets either.”

The Dreamboys are the most famous male strippers in the country and Lotan describes their show as “a night of music, muscle, magic and mayhem”.

He said: “It’s one massive night out where you can come out with your friends and let your hair down, not have to worry about what other people think and just enjoy one big party.

“What we try and do on stage is create a party for everyone, not just a show.”

But if any ladies or gents fancy bagging a Dreamboy at a gig, then they’re out of luck too.

“Giving out our phone number is the ultimate no-no but we’re not even allowed to give out our Facebook or Twitter addresses,” said Lotan.

“We have to keep a tight ship. At the end of the day, we’re supposed to be an object of desire. You can look but you can’t touch.

“If you break that rule, it would completely ruin the fantasy for people that come to see the show.

“And we are professional performers – that sort of thing shouldn’t happen anyway.”

“Anyone out there thinking 'I’m going to watch the Dreamboys show and try and cop off with one', don’t bother – it’s not going to happen.”
