Students at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in Wandsworth are performing Tennessee Williams' A Pocketful of Dreams next month.

The 19 postgraduates are working towards a masters degree in acting from Greenwich University and a diploma in acting from Trinity College.

A Pocketful of Dreams, directed by Katie Lewis, is their final performance before they graduate in December.

It is made up of nine of Williams' short plays, including Hello Bertha, Talk to me Like the Rain and Lord Byron's Love Letter.

The show gives audiences the chance to see a variety of intimate scenes and intense duologues, allowing the actors to showcase their abilities.

The play is presented thanks to a special arrangement with the University of South Sewanee, Tennessee, USA.

Kate Lewis' recent credits include working as resident assistant director of The Library Theatre Company and Assistant Director for The Off Broadway Theatre, The Flea in New York.

It is on at the ALRA South Theatre, Royal Victoria Patriotic Buildings, near Wandsworth Common, from October 12 to 14 at 7.30pm, with a matinee performance at 3pm on October 15.

Tickets are £7.50 advance and £10 on the door.

Proceeds of the tickets will go towards the student hardship fund.
