The UK premiere of Little Women the musical is on at the Lost Theatre this week until January.

Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel of the same name has been turned into a musical production by Lionel Segal and Peter Layton of the Lost Theatre Company.

Audiences are transported back in time to New England during the Civil War.

The play tells the tale of four sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy who are left with matriarch Mrs March, whilst Reverend March is away ministering to the Federal troops.

Jo, who dreams of becoming a writers narrates and as the plot unfurls musical the girls gradually grow into young women.

Their trials and tribulations are brought to life in this musical, as they grow up experiencing poverty, love and friendship.

The groundbreaking tale celebrates women breaking the mold and achieving success, and fought for women to have the right to publish books in their own name.

It is a timeless classic perfect for a family outing during the Christmas period.

Little Women the musical is on at the Lost Theatre, Wandsworth Road from now until January 7.

Tickets cost £10-£14.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinee performances on Saturdays.

This looks like a must see new Musical, lets hope it goes on into the West End.
