A trio of choirs singing classics from the past 20 years of pop will combine in a huge summer spectacular.

Popchoir, which has bases in Croydon, Dulwich and Clapham, is bringing together members from each centre to create a 200 strong ensemble.

Performing hits from bands such as Coldplay Muse and The Foo Fighters, as well as artists such as Britney Spears, Madonna and Gary Barlow, it is the second year Popchoir has taken to the Fairfield Halls stage.

Helen Hampton, director of Popchoir, says: "Members come from all walks of life and need not have any previous musical ability or experience. There are no auditions to join Popchoir and there is no need to be able to read music. The concert at the Fairfield Halls is a joyous culmination of the last year's rehearsals and is perfect family entertainment."

Previous performances this year have included both riot recovery scheme celebration days South End Food Festival and the St George’s Day event, singing at jubilee street parties and taking part in the Purley Festival.

Popchoir, Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, Croydon, on July 14 7.30pm tickets cost £14.50, call 0208 688 9291.
